Three Dangerous Drugs
Ten or twenty years ago, we would hear an occasional news report about a dangerous drug that had made its way to consumers and was causing terrible side effects such as liver damage, strokes, blood clots, or even death. Now, it seems that virtually every week we hear about another drug being recalled or being given a black box warning due to deadly side effects not listed, or even suppressed, by the drug’s manufacturer.

Duragesic patches were recalled in February 2008 due to leaks in the patches, which caused overdoses and most often, death.
Reglan was recently issued a black box warning by the FDA because this medication, prescribed for gastro-intestinal problems, has been linked to a disorder known as Tardive Dyskinesia, a condition that causes involuntary, repetitive movements of the body, even after the drug has been stopped.
